A Makerspace is a collaborative space that provides students with the chance to think critically, use design thinking, and solve problems. It allows students to make and explore new things and use critical thinking skills in a hands-on learning experience.
Makerspaces provide students with the chance to innovate, use problem-solving skills, come up with ideas to solve problems and learn to fail and try again. When I think Makerspace I think of the scene in Apollo 13 where they need to put the square peg in the round hole. Makerspaces teach students to use the resources they have and think outside the box. They teach them to work together and help provide a growth mindset of learning how to turn failures into successes.
Our Makerspace and STEM room is always looking for donations to keep up with our design challenges and maker time. Please check out the donate tab to see what you can help us with.
