Week of March 2, 2020
Religion-
Unit 3- This week we will review unit 3 for a unit test on Friday.
Reading-
The story that we are reading is called "So You Want to be President?". Throughout this week students will be able to read and comprehend expository text. As we read, students will be able to identify the tasks of the U.S. President, the people who help the president, and why the President resides at the White House in Washington, D.C.

Vocabulary words:

Language Arts-
Grammar: Review of punctuation and capitalization
Grammar Skill: Main and helping verbs
Writing: The students have completed their expositiry writing pieces. As I am reading through the students' writing, I am very happy with how organized, creative, and focused their essays are! Keep it up fourth grade!
Math-
This week we will continue with Chapter 6
Monday: Add and subtract units of measure involving yards, feet, and inches
Tuesday: Convert customary units of capacity
8 fluid ounces = 1 cup
2 cups = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon
Wednesday: Use customary units of weight (ounces, pound, and ton)
Thursday: Measure with metric units (centimeters and decimeters)
Friday: Review
Social Studies- (Monday & Friday)
We will complete Chapter 3 this week
Students will determine how the Woodland Indians traveled, traded, and respected nature. We will also discuss their beliefs, how they worked together, and what happened if there was a disagreement. Native Indian words are still used as the names of places today. Students will identify these names and research others on their own.
Vocabulary words to know:
Science- (Tuesday- Thursday)
Unit on structure of the Earth. Students will be able to identify each layer of the Earth and what it consists of. Students will be able to analyze why earthquakes and volcanoes occur. The students will be able to use coordinates to graph where volcanoes are the most common.
